I first learned how to fish as a kid with my cousins, maybe around eight or nine years old. Oh how we got excited when we caught a fish! What I remember most though, is laughing at everything. Now that we’re older, we try getting together a few times a year and head out for a day of fishing and catching up. During a cousins fishing day back in April, we were trolling about a half mile in on Lake Michigan, near the DeKoven Center in Racine, when I caught this beauty – an 18-pound Lake Trout! Our next trip is scheduled in fall, when the king salmon are spawning and heavy in the river. I’m not necessarily expecting to catch a fish like that again, but I am looking forward to the laughter!
